Ollyskins sell high-viz waders, oilskins and heavy duty waterproof clothing. They needed a new About Us story, one that wouldn’t put their customers to sleep.
Having researched the history of the oilskin, I knew where I wanted to take this. Someplace modern and conversational that ticked all the USPs … and also acknowledged the brutal history of life on the seas. I tore up the old About section, wrote new page copy and brought in headers like:
“Oilskins and a sou’wester. Barnacles in the pockets and salt encrusting the veins.”
Which is probably the best thing I’ve ever written.
